Pregnancy #3 this and that.....

February 22, 2017

Here we are. I blinked and it happened. 37 and a half weeks. Holy cow.

The idea that we are going to have 3 kids ages 4 and under in less than three weeks is mind boggling! We are ready, but we aren't. And I realized that I've done a pretty bad job of documenting this pregnancy. I've just been so busy trying to keep up with Hudson and Sadie and trying to take care of myself. I'm sure baby girl will forgive me. I'll do my best to make her a baby book......while I try to finish her sister's too. #worstmomever #notreally

For the most part I have been feeling really great, and for that I am so thankful. With Sadie I had the worst hip pain from weeks 33-37 and it was difficult for me to walk. I am SO glad that didn't happen this time! I can feel my hips loosening and have back pain at the end of the day but it's NOTHING like last time. Insert all the praise hands here.

Also, like last time, I haven't been keeping track of my weight gain. I know it's more than Hudson (I gained about 26 pounds with him and felt great the entire time....I also walked on the treadmill during my lunch break every day and walked Wrigley in the evenings. Overachiever right there.) With Sadie and with this baby it has been harder to work out....but I am chasing after two little kids and CONSTANTLY cleaning up some kind of I'm rarely sitting down. But I can tell I've gained a little more this time. #ohwell

I'm the least anxious about the delivery this time too! I'm going for VBAC #2 after a wonderful experience with Sadie. This baby girl is head down (yay!) so we are on track to have another VBAC. If you are new here, you can read about why I chose to have a VBAC here and my comparison between c-seciton and VBAC here. I'm at an even lower risk for complications this time around since I've already had one successful VBAC. If you have any questions please let me know...I'm happy to share more of my experience with you! I would choose a VBAC a million times over having a c-section.

Earlier this week I had contractions on and off for about two hours....and not gonna lie, it brought ALL the painful contraction memories back! I think I had a mind block up about it....but those contractions reminded me of how terrible it was. So I'm sort of dreading that part. The part that comes after the epidural I know I can handle! What can I say? I have a low tolerance for pain. It's a red head thing.

We are pretty much set to go other than a few little things I need to pick up. This by far has been the easiest baby to prepare for because we already have a lot of girl clothes, my friends stocked us up on diapers, and we already have all the baby gear! We just need to put the finishing touches on her room, figure out the baby monitor situation, and install her car seat! Oh, and get Hudson to sleep through the night. But that's another blog post for another day.

So March 12, here we come! Both Hudson and Sadie were born on their due dates so I'm going for 3 for 3 and hoping to have her then. But I won't be too mad if she comes a little early. Just don't come late baby girl!

My Little Valentine

February 14, 2017

This post is sponsored by Everywhere Agency on behalf of OshKosh B’gosh; however, all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

You guys. Having a girl is so much fun. Especially during Valentine's Day! Because give me ALL THE HEART THINGS.

And Sadie is loving all the hearts too! She points to her outfits and says "hert! hert!". I seriously am already excited for next year when I have two girls to dress up! Because Hudson? He's not digging the hearts....unless they are in the form of candy.

Not gonna lie, I had to bribe Sadie with some chocolate chip cookies for these photos...... evidenced all over her face. Totally worth it.

It seems like I blinked and she turned in to a big girl! Love this little Valentine of mine.

This year for Valentine's Day we are eating some festive donuts, going to a friend's house to play, and making dinner together for a fun "date night" in with the kids.  I seriously cannot wait! What are your plans for Valentine's Day?

Doesn't Hudson's preschool farmhouse make the perfect Valentine's Day backdrop? Good thing I'll be taking a kid here for the next 5 years! (holy cow)

My go-to this year for the cutest Valentine's Day outfits was OshKosh B’gosh! They never disappoint and are truly one of our favorite brands. I mean....look at her shoes! I'm dead from the cute.

And I want her heart t-shirt in my size. I even ordered it a little big so she can wear it for a long time! Also, Sadie is all about jumping lately. Whatever you want sweet girl!

You can find these adorable clothes online or at an OshKosh b'gosh store near you.

Right now you can save 20% off $40+ purchase online with code: OKBG3273 or in store with code: 036643

Sadie Room Tour

February 8, 2017

It only took me a year....but Sadie's room is finally done! It was about 75% finished for a long time.....but for some reason I just couldn't finish it. This room was the hardest for me....and I think it's because of the pink walls. Don't get me wrong, I love the pink. But I think it made the room harder to decorate for some reason. Baby girl's room is grey and has been SO MUCH EASIER. Anyway, it wasn't until my mom came home from a shopping trip to HomeGoods declaring she found the PERFECT curtains for Sadie's room. We had been back and fourth for months about what to do about her curtains. We wanted something soft and light, but we just couldn't find it. But waiting paid off and they are darling! Needless to say, her room turned out absolutely adorable and absolutely her. And I just love it so much.

Sadie aways has to have all her "kikis" in her bed!

Almost Baby Time!

February 6, 2017

This post is sponsored by Carter’s; however, all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

I can't believe it. In about 5 weeks (or maybe less?) we'll be a family of FIVE. Where has the time gone? I felt like my pregnancy with Sadie flew by...but that was nothing compared to this baby girl. I feel like I just announced I was pregnant!

So now it's really crunch time to DO ALL THE THINGS. Thankfully once you are on baby #3 and you already have a boy and a girl, you don't need too much stuff. My husband still needs to put together her dresser so I can finally wash all the baby girl stuff and put it away....and we need to figure out the baby monitor situation.....oh and install the carseat.  But other than that, we are all set!

This time around knowing that we are having a baby girl has been a little dangerous, shopping wise! With Sadie we waited to find out if it was a boy or girl, so I didn't go crazy buy baby girl stuff....which is probably a good thing. I haven't gone crazy this time around but of course I've bought our newest little lady a few things I just couldn't resist! After all, we do live in Michigan where the seasons change, so most of the tiny stuff left over from Sadie is summer stuff....which won't do for our little March baby.

So basically I HAD to go shopping, right? I picked up several cute things at Carter's....which is always my go-to for cute quality kids stuff! I can just picture our little girl snuggled up in this outfit being loved on by her big brother and big sister (well, hopefully big sister. I know Hudson will love on the baby but the jury's still out on how Sadie will react). It's seriously giving me all the feels!

Baby girl is stocked up and ready!

Also, give me all the pink and all the hearts! Carter’s has everything you need to make sure your baby is the cutest dressed babe in town.

Doesn't all of this stuff look so cozy? I love that Carter's helps me keep my baby looking stylish and adorable, without sacrificing comfort. I can't wait for our little miss to wear these adorable clothes!!!!  And don't even get me started on the shoes! Hurry up March 12!

Carter's offers the cutest clothes at the best right now I've got an awesome coupon for you! You can use it to save 20% off your purchase of $40 or more. The coupon is valid through March 6, 2017 and can be used in-store and online for ultimate savings!

Mom Hacks to Get Kids to Eat Their Veggies

February 1, 2017

 photo IMG_6158.jpg

Like any mom, I worry that my kids aren't eating the right foods to help them grow big and strong...and be healthy! I've learned a few tricks along the way to insure my kids get the nutrition they need....but I'm not going to sugar coat's not always easy. Thankfully Sadie is a really good eater and LOVES veggies. Her favorites right now are cucumber (I peal it, chop it up, and marinate it in a tiny bit of Italian dressing), tomatoes, and any cooked veggie especially zucchini, green beans, carrots, broccoli, and peas. Hudson, on the other hand, will only eat corn. And sometimes raw carrots.

So my number one weapon to get those veggies in to those little bodies is a green smoothie. And it's probably my most asked for recipe too! Thankfully both of my kids ask for this smoothie every morning and drink it up like there's no tomorrow. Hudson has been drinking this since he was a little over a year old and Sadie is following in his footsteps. Insert all the praise hands here.

 photo IMG_1348.jpg

This recipe makes about 5 smoothies (I usually drink one myself and then save the extras for the next day so I'm not blending it up every morning!)

10-12 large frozen strawberries (I buy the big bag from Costco)
Any other berries I need to use up like blueberries or black berries
2 fresh bananas
1 large handful of fresh baby spinach
3/4 cup greek yogurt
1/4 cup tofu (for extra protein!)
Juice (watered down 50%)

The tofu and greek yogurt help make sure that the kids are getting some much needed protein. Full disclosure here: I sometimes blend up just the berries, banana, yogurt, and juice and pour myself a smoothie...and then add in the rest of the ingredients. You really can't taste the other stuff but since I've been pregnant the idea of the spinach and tofu make me feel sick...even though I could use them in my diet, I just can't stomach them right now! I'm sure if someone mixed this up for me and handed it to me it would be fine....but something about watching the spinach and tofu in the blender makes me feel sick.

Don't worry, Sadie has her own cute cups too....but was not very patient with me when I was taking these photos and shouted "moothie mommy! PLEASE!" at me the whole time.

 photo IMG_6156.jpg

So I'm sure you'll guess that I was THRILLED to find a new healthy snack my kids will actually eat AND is good for them. And the bonus is it helps me add more veggies in to their diet! Yay! (Well, I'll be sure to never tell my kids that, ha!) We've been enjoying these Garden Lites Chocolate Muffins lately and I am thrilled to have a snack to offer Hudson and Sadie that packed with good for them ingredients.

 photo IMG_6159.jpg

Garden Lites products made with clean and simple ingredients and are veggie rich, gluten-free, dairy-free, and nut free! Plus they are frozen, so we can heat one up any time we need a snack or I can toss one in my bag and it will thaw in time for a healthy snack on the go.

And I like them too! The are perfect for a little afternoon snack.

Sadie may or may not have swiped another muffin while I was taking photos. And right here is the difference between boys and girls: Hudson would have left muffin bits ALL OVER the house....but Sadie found a seat at the table and sat her little booty down.

 photo IMG_6160.jpg

They must be good if this girl goes back for seconds.

I found my Garden Lites Muffins at Costco! They were in the freezer section by the breakfast items. You can also find them in the freezer section of your nearest Publix, Stop & Shop, Giant, Shop-Rite, HEB, or Kroger.

And click here to save $1 on your Garden Lites purchase! Besides the chocolate flavor they also come in blueberry oat!

So tell do you get your kids to eat their veggies?
