Life with Three

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of The J.M. Smucker Company. The opinions and text are all mine.

I’m still getting the hang of this “three kids” thing. I think the secret is to just embrace and expect the chaos. Knowing that it’s going to get crazy the minute those little feet hit the floor in the morning sure helps me re-evaluate and set my expectations low. And expect the unexpected. I know that for every minute of a game of tag around the kitchen island, or for every spill I clean up there will be a point during the night where THEY ARE ALL ASLEEP AT THE SAME TIME and I will miss them. It’s crazy but it’s true. And as soon as I start missing them at least one will wake up. And we’ll start our crazy get to bed routine all over again.

But really, most days are fun. And busy. And messy. But I love it. And on days when I’m not feeling the love so much I ship one of them off to grandma and grandpa’s house for a little relief. And all of a sudden having one less kid to deal with is basically like having no kids. Kind of. Almost.

Don’t even get me started on what it’s like when one kid is at his grandparent’s house and one kid is napping. When I have just one sidekick with me it’s like I’m on a mini vacation! Isn’t it crazy how your perspective changes so much? I remember thinking having just one kid was HARD. And it was. You just adapt and change with each child. You learn what works and what doesn’t, and eventually find your groove. I’m still working on that part. Hopefully soon I’ll be able to run errands with all three of my kids without sweating through my clothes and nearly hyperventilating. Ha!

The other day Hudson went to grandma and grandpa’s house so I had a girls day with my best gals. I painted Sadie’s nails, we had a picnic, and then we played with all of her favorite toys. It was so sweet and cute! I can’t wait for Belle to be big enough to join in on the fun.

This little lady is pretty content as long as I’m holding her. Thankfully she goes with the flow of our crazy house and just takes it all in. She’s constantly being entertained by someone!

On days where I need an extra pick me up (lately, that’s every day) I’ve started making my own cold brew coffee! I wasn’t much of a coffee drinker before kids, but now I have seen the light and love it as a special treat. I frequently enjoy a cold brew coffee any time of the year, even in the fall!

I can’t always pack up all three kids and run out to get my favorite drink so I’ve been making it at home thanks to the new Dunkin’ Donuts® Cold Brew! Freshly brewed cold brew packs allow you to get the same fresh, crafted cold brew taste with a simple at-home process.

You simply add the cold brew packs to three cups of water and brew it in your refrigerator for 8-12 hours (I do mine overnight) and then add more water once it’s done.

Then the fun part begins! Customize the cold brew coffee to your liking! I like to keep things simple and quick with just a little chocolate syrup and creamer.

Drizzle a little chocolate syrup inside the top rim of your glass.

Next add your coffee and your creamer.

It comes out so professional looking, don’t you think? I’ve never been that great at making coffee but really feel like I knocked it out of the park with this drink! It is SO good! And so easy to make. Doesn’t it look yummy? Dunkin’ Donuts Cold Brew is available at Meijer in the coffee aisle! Check out this page to learn more and find mperks savings from 11/5-12/2. Be sure to pick some up and try it for yourself…you’ll thank me!

  1. Three suits you well mama. But painting nails with the girls is simply the best!
