Christmas Pajama Party!

November 30, 2016

 photo FullSizeRender-3_1.jpg

Because Christmas jammies are the best, right? Look at my babies last year! Oh. My. Word. They are so little! Good thing I'm pregnant because Sadie's cheeks are giving me baby fever.

 photo IMG_8073.jpeg

Join me and some blogging friends for a Christmas pajama party....link up style! I can't wait to see what jammies your little ones are rocking this year. Mine are totally rocking those bear jams again...because they are my favorite and we have them in almost every size thanks to Gap making them year after year. This was actually the first year I didn't have to buy them new...because Hudson's were a little too big last year they still fit this year....and Sadie is wearing the pair Hudson wore in 2013. Dying. And also I'm already trying to figure out what to do next year because Hudson will be too big for toddler sizes....come on Gap! Make these in a kid version please!

Anyway, the link up starts December 15 right here....and runs until the 22nd! Yay! So excited! Who's joining us?

Oh hey there Friday

November 18, 2016

Hey there Friday.....it's nice to see you! It's been a while since I've done a 5 on Friday post...so here goes nothing.

 photo FullSizeRender copy 3_1.jpg
{one}  This girl has been talking up a storm lately. Mostly "no!" and "mine!"....but still. It's crazy to me how much she comprehends what we say...and how much she knows the rules but still breaks them. She's trouble! Here she is scolding Wrigley or as she says "Re-Re" (just like Hudson did when he was little!) because he wouldn't bring the ball back to her. that little finger is killing me. So are the skinny jeans and hands on her hip.

 photo IMG_4969.jpg

And don't get me started on that belly!

 photo IMG_4960.jpg

There is seriously nothing cuter. I just want to bottle her up and keep her forever.

{two} This month's POPSUGAR Must Have Box was hands down my absolute favorite box so far! If you are looking for a gift for someone who has everything, this is the perfect solution! When I saw the Kendra Scott Elaina Rose Gold bracelet I totally squealed! Also in the box, a chambray runner by Pehr, Dawn to Dusk Palette by Stowaway Cosmetics, a super cute wire bowl by AJ Goods, star party picks by Meri Meri, and the yummiest toffee butter popcorn by Oogie's Snacks. I seriously love everything in this box...they totally nailed it. Use code "SHOP5" for $5 off your first Must Have Box here. #MustHaveBox #ad

{three} I need your help. I'm about to head to California for a work trip which means I get to READ!!!!!! I haven't read a book in.....I can't remember the last time honestly. So, I'm super rusty. What should I pick up? What have been your favorite reads lately? Please share in the comments because I am so out of the loop!

{four} We recently tried out some Munk Pack, which is an oatmeal fruit squeeze snack for adults on the go....but I quickly found out Hudson likes them too. We both like peach chia vanilla and the apple quinoa cinnamon the most! Plus they are all gluten free, kosher, vegan, and contain no GMO's.

 photo FullSizeRender 2_2.jpg
{five} I'm off to do my glucose test this morning. Here's hoping that this will be the last time I ever have to chug that nasty orange drink. And actually, as I learned with Sadie, the orange is not quite as bad as the clear drink. The clear drink is AWFUL. And the orange is slightly better. But still gross. Wish me luck!

Happy Friday!

Personalized Christmas Gift Idea

November 17, 2016

 photo IMG_4931.jpg

Raise your hand if you are almost done with Christmas shopping.......anyone? I'm totally not. I always have big plans to be done by Black Friday, and it never happens. This year I'm on the hunt for unique gifts you can't find everywhere.....and today I'm sharing two of my absolute favorite new gift ideas.

I've been blog friends with Julie (hey! Great name!) for a few years now and she recently opened up the most adorable shop, 3 Daughters Designs, where she makes custom silhouettes!

 photo IMG_4937.jpg

I sent Julie a few profile photos of Sadie and Hudson and she went to work...and the results are just darling! Julie made an ornament for both Hudson and Sadie with their customer silhouette. Hudson is already obsessed with his and recognized it as him right away!

 photo FullSizeRender 4.jpg

And look at these silhouettes! They are precious and I will cherish them forever....and they would make a PERFECT grandparent gift, don't you think? I can't wait to have Julie make one more once baby girl is here.

 photo FullSizeRender 3.jpg

Look how she captured Hudson's hair. Dying. Julie sent me some drafts via email before she made the final products, just so I could look them over. LOVE!

And she can do one of your pet too! Isn't this sweet? Wrigley might need an ornament next.

Julie offers all types of sizes of silhouettes in a variety of colors....on paper, ornaments, even mugs!  They are just too cute for words and make a great gift or keepsake. Right now you can save 10% off your 3 Daughters Designs order with code "GIRLINTHEREDSHOES" at checkout. And be sure to order right away so you can enjoy your ornaments and silhouettes during Christmas! Keep in mind the deadline to order in time for Christmas delivery is December 6th.

Christmas Fashion for Littles

November 11, 2016

This post is sponsored by Everywhere Agency on behalf of OshKosh B’gosh; however, all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

OshKosh B'gosh

It's the holiday season and I don't know about you, but I am pumped!

OshKosh B'gosh

And so are Hudson and Sadie. These two are non stop and can't get enough of each other. And I can't get enough of their coordinating holiday outfits. I mean....so much cute.

OshKosh B'gosh

This holiday season I'm looking forward to taking the kids to meet Santa, sending out Christmas cards, baking cookies, looking at Christmas lights, drinking hot chocolate, decorating the tree.....gosh the list goes on and on!

OshKosh B'gosh

Lately Sadie wants to do EVERYTHING that Hudson does. She's become his little shadow, and it's the sweetest thing ever. He let's her tag along most of the time. And when she gets distracted and moves on to the next thing he always seeks her out and brings her back to him. Such a good big brother.

OshKosh B'gosh

So, needless to say Hudson cannot wait to teach Sadie all about Christmas this year! And I'm excited to watch everything through their eyes. It's all so much fun.

I'm always on the hunt for coordinating outfits for the kids, especially for the holidays. I was THRILLED to mix and match these styles together for such a fun holiday look! Both kids are dressed head to toe in OshKosh B'gosh clothing.....which holds up so well to our rough and tumble life.

To My Daughter, on the Day After the Election

November 9, 2016

 photo FullSizeRender 2.jpg

Dear sweet girl,

This morning I expected to wake up, greet you with a hug and a kiss, and show you proof that one day you could be president. But instead I woke up to the news that our country has elected a future leader who is fueled by hate, fear, and disrespect. I picked you up out of your crib this morning, kissed and held you tight, and prayed for you. And I prayed for your brother. And I prayed for our country.

I am sad. I am sad for me. I am sad for you and your little sister in my belly. I am sad for your Gigi, who went door to door and encouraged all people to vote. I am sad for your big brother, and your daddy too.

So today, and all days moving forward, I will remind you that you can be anything. You can be president. That you deserve to have a voice. That you deserve equal pay for equal work. That you deserve access to affordable healthcare. That just because someone is different from you it does not mean that they should be feared. That your value should be judged by your heart, your love for God, your kindness, the things you do for others, and the things you contribute to this world. That you do not deserve to be judged by your looks or your body.

And in four years I'll take you with me to vote for a new president. And I'll show you how we can do better. And how every vote matters.

But most importantly my little girl, I will remind you daily that we live in a broken world. It is our job to be a light in the darkness. It is our job to love our neighbors as ourselves. To give of our talents and our time to those who need it most. To look for the good in all people. To be a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves. To fight for what is right, what is pure, and what honors God.

"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:38-39

Van Life

November 7, 2016

 photo IMG_4782.jpg

It's official. I'm full blown MOM status now. Baby #3 has finally pushed us over the edge...and I'm a van mom now. Something about this purchase made everything seem really real....like we'll be having THREE KIDS in a few months. Yikes!

We've only had the van for a few days, so it' hasn't quite sunk in yet.....but yeah. And you know what? I kind of love it. I knew if I wrote a "to van or not to van" blog post that EVERY mom with a van would leave a comment about how much you LOVE your van. And it's true. This baby was built for a mom with young kids.

 photo IMG_4743.jpg

The sliding doors are hands down my favorite...and surprisingly Hudson's favorite too! No more wide load doors open on both sides while I try to buckle these two crazies in to their car seats. I was driving a Toyota Highlander and I LOVED it...and the whole reason we got it a few years ago was because there was a third row if we ever decided to have more than two kids. But such silly young parents we were. There was NO WAY that third row could help. Hudson isn't able to buckle/unbuckle himself in to his car seat (and I kind of want to keep him like that).....so he would need help each time he got in his seat. And with two car seats in the middle row there was no way for me to climb to the third row to help him. Plus with the third row up there was zero trunk space....aka no room for our double stroller  (#momlife). It's really a better design for older kids. But the van? I can walk through that baby. And it's awesome.

Plus it has a built in DVD player...which Hudson is ALL ABOUT. And poor Sadie is still rear facing so she has no clue what's going on.....but she likes the van anyway. All weekend Hudson was begging to play in the van and go for a ride. We definitely sat in the van in our driveway and watched a little Finding Nemo and ate snacks while I poked around with all the features. And Jon? He was very anti-van....for the longest time. But my mom helped me sell him on it...especially when we talked about how when I'm out and about it was safer for me to get all the kids in the van and lock the door while I strap them in, instead of being so exposed while I got each one it and had all the doors open. But guess who jumped at the chance to drive the van all weekend? Jon secretly loves that van and all the features....just don't tell him I said that.

 photo IMG_4771.jpg

And for anyone curious, we got a Toyota Sienna. Because of where we live, we really needed a 4 wheel drive van for me to feel safe driving it in the winter. And Toyota is the only one who makes a van with all wheel drive....so our choice was made for us!

So yeah.....I'm a van driving mom and I am not ashamed. I am in LOVE.
