5 on Friday

August 16, 2013

Happy Friday! I don't know about you, but I'm so glad it's Friday. First, because well, duh, tomorrow is Saturday. And second, it means it's time for 5 on Friday!

{one} I'm swooning over this rainbow crayon organizer! I would love to make this for Hudson (someday). To all my fellow boy moms: Am I crazy to think that Hudson would actually use this? And, you know, actually put the crayons back in the right holder? I'm gonna go ahead and say yes, I'm crazy.

{two} Teething can suck it.

{three} I need two of these rugs for my kitchen. Can it be my birthday again? Or could someone be a peach and buy them for me? I'll love you forever.

{four} I just realized it's almost fall. Which means it's almost Halloween and I have NO idea what Hudson is going to be! Have you seen the over-the-top-adorable costumes at Pottery Barn Kids. This kid is a werewolf! I can't get over it!

{five} No technique of protecting yourself on the internet is perfect! If you want to be super safe, please watermark your images. You can use PicMonkey for free!

  1. Ah I can't wait for fall either! Mostly because we are expecting our first little one this fall, but also because I just love the season!

  3. Love the pictures of Hudson, how cute. I hope he feels better with teething, too. My b/f Jeana is having a really difficult time with it, with her son. He is constantly sick :(

  4. Yup. Your crazy :) although we only use blue crayons here (her fav color) so it MIGHT work? I'm so so excited for Halloween! I've been hunting for a costume for lex with zero luck...and teething is literally the worst thing about being a baby-mom (and probably a baby).

  5. Stealing pictures? That's crazy! And really scary. Sometimes I get a bit freaked out about all of the exposure from blogging. I'm emailing you!

I think that crayon organization is SO cute! And, as a former Kindergarten teacher, I truly appreciate it's organization AND think that if you start teaching Hudson about it now he will eventually get it -- probably sooner than you think!

We have a color / shape sorter for Owen and he loves sorting the shapes by color "properly". Of course he usually loses interest half way through, but at least he's trying!

Teething seriously SUCKS. O is getting one of his cuspids and that little buggar is taking it's time.

I hope you guys all have a good weekend!!

  6. I love that crayon organizer!

As for teething: oh, gosh. I've had my wisdom teeth growing in recently and the pain was absurd. Bless Hudson's heart; I hope it's over soon!

  9. Julie,
I just emailed you for the instructions on how to right click disable, but I just noticed you can still drag photos from your blog and they save to the desktop. I guess we can never be truly safe! I panic about this thought a lot and it makes me even consider deleting my blog at times. It's a crazy world we live in!!

    Thanks, Lindsay

I sent you an email regarding the right click disabling - I watermark my photos already but I'd love to disable the right click as well.

  14. I get super paranoid about my images being used elsewhere so I always try and write my blog title on them. Takes a little more effort but give me some piece of mind.

  16. Not too excited about the next round of teething! Anything that has made the process easier for Hudson? I am so so excited for Halloween costumes too! And I emailed you about the blog safety...such creepers out there!

  17. Sometimes it's a pain to watermark but I try to do it for every picture that Avery is in.

I haven't even started thinking about Halloween, I need to get on it ASAP.

And the teething bug has bitten my little one this week, sucks!

  18. I have no idea what my daughter is going to be for Halloween! There are just toooo many options. I'm sure I'm going to start stressing out about it soon. ;) Ughh I hate teething, waking up screaming in the middle of the night is horrible.

  27. That first project with the crayons is adorable! I actually found my son to be better at putting things away once we set him up with systems as a toddler, whereas my daughter is always reinventing the system! So glad I stumbled onto your blog today:)
