5 on Friday

July 19, 2013

Happy Friday! Friday couldn't get here soon enough. I am SO ready for the weekend. Friday means it's time to link up with my favorite girls for 5 on Friday. Seriously the best link up ever!

{one} I've received a few requests to do a hair tutorial and let me just say that makes me so giddy! I really have no clue what I'm doing with my hair most of the time. I've been blessed with super thick and healthy hair, so it's not too hard to style. Kate from The Small Things Blog has THE BEST hair tutorials that are way better than anything I could re-create. The one that is most similar to my routine can be found HERE. It's totally worth watching. The only thing I do differently is I don't comb each section before I curl it. Because I'm lazy. Oh, and I have like 4 times the amount of hair she has, so it takes me a little bit longer. I also only curl my hair on Sundays and Wednesdays. The rest of the days I just do a touch up here and there.

{two} Blogging has totally made me spend more money. Natasha posted about her super cute running shoes and I did what any blogger would do. I bought them that day. And thanks to zappos vip they arrived the next day. I am in love. Now I have no excuse for not working out.

{three} Little Hip Squeaks launched their new site a few weeks ago and I think I "window shop" there just about every day. I really want these leggings for Hudson. And if she started making them in adult sizes I wouldn't complain. Just sayin'....

{four}Because it's almost the weekend and because I love you all I'm offering 30% off all ads through Monday! You can view the different options available HERE. Use code "julieloves" at checkout.

{five} My husband has a guys trip planned this weekend and as soon as I found out about it I asked my mom if she wanted to have a girls weekend....and of course she did! I'm excited to work on some projects, drink some wine, and maybe do a little shopping with my mom. Oh and Hudson too. I guess it isn't exactly a girls weekend if your son tags along. Good thing he doesn't mind being with us girls!

  1. 1. I agree with idolizing your hair. Do you have any favorite products? My hair would NEVER hold a curl for 3 days without half a bottle of spray gel and being crunchy.

    2. I need those shoes... although mine are new already. Oops.

    3. I thought those leggings were adult and I was clicking before I even read the caption!

    4. Have a fun girls (and baby boy!) weekend!

  6. I'm envious that you can get away with doing your hair twice! I had a big road trip on Monday and left at 4:30am so I had washed my hair Sunday morning. By mid-Monday (even after dry shampooing) my boyfriend was making fun of how greasy my hair gets. I literally have to wash it every day and if it's humid by the end of the day it looks like I've never washed my hair before! THin hair sucks!

  11. Blogging makes me want to be more crafty, trendy and go shopping! Sometimes I have to remind myself I don't need everything everyone else has...except those leggings and a girls weekend.

  20. You seriously do have THE BEST HAIR, and you only curl it Sundays and Wednesdays?! I SO wish I could do that! Love the pic of you and Hudson, sweet, sweet! I do the same thing anytime the hubby goes away, I ask my Momma to come! It makes it so much better! Unfortunately, she has to fly in so it doesn't happen as much as I would like. Enjoy your time and happy weekend!

  21. I REALLY wish I had your hair! I love your color too! So pretty! You're lucky you can just do it twice a week. Mine is so fine that I can only skip washing it every other day.

Have a GREAT weekend with you mom and Hudson!

  24. I love those shoes! I just got a pair but they're pink and orange and neon-bright and now I hate them! They don't match with anything I work out in, although I suppose that's not the point...

I'm always looking for cute clothes for Noah...checking out those leggings and the rest of the site, too!

Have a wonderful girls' (and baby) weekend!!!
