39 Weeks

How far along? 39 Weeks. Holy Cow. Baby boy is the size of a watermelon. And it sure feels like I'm carrying a watermelon around!
Maternity clothes? For sure.
Stretch marks? Nope! I lucked out big time.
Sleep: I'm still up every two hours or so to go the bathroom and change positions...but sleeping pretty well considering.
Best moment this week: Relaxing on Saturday with the husband. And dinner out that included chocolate fondue for dessert.....amazing.
Miss Anything? Not really. I'm sort of going to miss my baby bump once this is over!
Movement: Still lots of movement and hiccups. So adorable.
Food cravings: I still really want a box of See's chocolates. And raspberries.
Anything making you queasy or sick: No.
Gender: Baby boy
Labor Signs: Still nothing. I'm determined to make it to 40 weeks!
Symptoms: Still some swelling in my hands and a sore back. I think going to the chiropractor 3 times a week as well as walking every day have helped me avoid a lot of discomfort.
Belly Button in or out? It's still flat and sore!
Wedding rings on or off? On...most of the time.
Mood: Good! I'm trying to enjoy my last week of pregnancy.
Looking forward to: This is my last week of work! I'm excited to have a break for a little while. And I'm also looking forward to relaxing over the long weekend.
19 weeks (cutest photo to date!), 29 weeks, and now 39.

Who will he look like?

Now that we are just days away from meeting our baby boy, I can't help but wonder who he will look like. Scratch that...I've been wondering this from day one!
Will he have my husband's pretty green eyes? And my goofy smile?
Will he be a good sleeper? Or a good eater? (can you tell which one I was?)
Will he have my chubby legs?
My husband's personality?
Blond hair or red?

We are getting excited to meet our little matter who he looks like!

Mini Master Bedroom Makeover

Happy  Monday everyone! We had a wonderful weekend. Breakfast downtown, date night, movies, and chocolate fondue.....doesn't get much better than that! I've also been busy working on a mini makeover for our master bedroom....and although it isn't done yet, I thought I'd share a sneak peak!

We got new curtains (which are actually two shower curtains from Target!), a new duvet cover, and new pillows. It's so much cuter now.

Here's a reminder of what it looked like before:
The brown tones clashed with our newly updated bathroom (you can see that HERE) so they had to go!

LOVE our new look. The pillows are from Etsy. Recognize that yellow pillow? I stole it from our guest room. It will be replaced once I find something else to go there, but for now, it works!

Here is where the yellow pillow normally lives. I "shopped" my house to find pillow for the photos.....which is one of my favorite tips to decorating on a budget! Want some more budget friendly decorating ideas? Head on over to All in My Twenties to read my guest post today! I'd love to hear what you think!

38 Weeks

How far along? 38 Weeks. Baby boy is the size of a pumpkin! And he is still breech. I'm still trying to get him to flip, but as for now it looks like a c-section for me. Bummer.
Maternity clothes? Mostly maternity these days!
Stretch marks? Nope....just 2 weeks to go until I'm in the clear!
Sleep: It's been rough this week. I wake up every two hours to use the bathroom and then switch which side I'm sleeping on. But once my head hits the pillow I'm out!
Best moment this week: My neighborhood baby shower and putting together the nursery with my mom. It's our last few weeks of just mom and sad!
Miss Anything? I miss not feeling huge. The belly is taking over!
Movement: Still lots of movement, but no flipping.
Food cravings:  All I really want is a box of See's chocolates. Which is so unlike me. I'm usually not the biggest chocolate fan but it sounds so good right now! There were See's candy stores all over California, but I've never seen one in Michigan. So sad!
Anything making you queasy or sick: No.
Gender: Baby boy
Labor Signs: Zero. And we want it to stay that way until my doctor is back from vacation! Plus, if I have to have a c-section I would at least like to have it scheduled so that I can go in looking cute!
Symptoms: Swelling in my hands when I get too hot...but that's about it.
Belly Button in or out? It's flat. Baby's head keeps hitting my belly button area and it's SO sore now!
Wedding rings on or off? On...most of the time.
Mood: Overall it's good. I'm still sad about the c-section. I know I need to just get over it, but it just wasn't how I pictured things would be in my mind. I've had several good cries about it this past week, and I'm actually doing much better. But don't talk to me about it....I'll tear up! Actually it's pretty easy to get me to cry these days!
Looking forward to: Date night with my husband this weekend. We are going to relax and just enjoy each other's company.
18, 28, and 38 weeks. I miss that cute little 28 week bump!

"G" is for Granite

Yesterday we had our granite counter tops installed in our kitchen. And I am IN LOVE!

Here's a reminder of what it looked like before.

And after.

Our kitchen is so much brighter and seems bigger.

Up next is a new back splash. Not exactly sure when we'll get to it, but hopefully soon! You can see that not only does the old back splash not match the new granite, but there is also a gap between the counter and the  bottom of the tile. That's because our old counter tops were slightly thicker. Perfect excuse to replace that ugly tile!

I'm still in love with the white cabinets and new hardware and think it looks amazing with the granite.

We also got a new sink, which Sophie is obsessed with. It's deeper than our old sink and SO much prettier. I'm so glad we went with an under-mount looks great with the granite. We are getting a new faucet installed this week as well.

Thanks for stopping by! I love my new kitchen!

That's going to be us....and a winner

Happy Monday! This weekend flew by. On Saturday I was super spoiled by the wonderful women who live in my neighborhood at my final baby shower. Baby boy is totally set for cute clothes! And I got lots of offers to watch the baby so that I can my neighbors.

Oh, and the nursery is almost done. We are so so close to finishing...I can't wait to share it with you!

Last week we got to meet our friend's newest addition....little Mr. Logan! Our dear friends, Mo and Ali, welcomed their little guy a few weeks ago and we couldn't wait to go meet him.

Logan beating up on his soon to be best friend. The boys will be about 6-7 weeks apart and we can't wait for them to play together.

The proud new parents.

Mo and Jon have been friends since college and are excited to start teaching their boys how to play baseball. Seeing our friend's become parents was awesome....and crazy because that will be us in just two weeks! Yikes. We did spend a good portion of the drive home freaking out just a little bit. But it was the perfect motivation to get the car seat ready to go, bags packed, and baby clothes put away!

In other news, remember this little pretty....
The winner of the Stella and Dot giveaway is Britt from The Magnolia Pair! Congrats Britt! I'm sure you are going to rock that gorgeous necklace!

37 Weeks

How far along? 37 Weeks. My baby will be here in 3 weeks! Isn't that crazy? Looks like baby boy is still breech. I've been going to a chiropractor trained in the Webster Technique 3 times a week to help adjust my hips so that the baby can we'll see if that helps. If anything it feels good! I'm also swimming and doing yoga. I feel much more calm about it than I did last week.
Maternity clothes? Still a mix of both maternity and non-maternity.
Stretch marks? Nope....just 3 weeks to go until I'm in the clear!
Sleep: It's still difficult to get comfortable, but seeing the chiropractor has definitely helped with my hip and back pain. I highly recommend it to all of my pregnant friends!
Best moment this week: Relaxing over the weekend and getting ready for baby. The husband put together the swing, bouncy seat, and installed the car seat, so we are ready to go.
Miss Anything? I miss being able to paint my toes and shave my legs without breaking a sweat!
Movement: Still lots of movement.
Food cravings: Watermelon, lemonade, and strawberries.

Anything making you queasy or sick: No.
Gender: Baby boy
Labor Signs: Zero. And we want it to stay that way. My c-section is scheduled for September 5th and I'd really like to make it to that day.
Symptoms: Swelling in my hands when I get too hot...but that's about it.
Belly Button in or out? It's flat.
Wedding rings on or off? On...most of the time.
Mood: I'm feeling much better this week. Still hoping that baby boy turns sometime soon, but in the end we just want a healthy baby.
Looking forward to: My final baby shower this weekend and finishing up the nursery with a little help from my mom. It's so close to being done!

  17 weeks, 27, and 37....yikes!

Kitchen Cabinet Makeover: Before and After

Our kitchen cabinets are finally complete! And I couldn't be happier. Our kitchen is so much brighter and fresh looking. We still have some more projects (granite counter tops, new back splash, new sink and faucet, and painting the walls) but it's a start!

First, here's a reminder of what they looked like before:

And now:
The paint is Simply White by Benjamin Moore. We hired someone to paint them for us...and since I'm 9 months pregnant it was worth every penny! We also got all new cabinet pulls from Lowe's that I love. I think the walls might look good painted a greenish, blue color, but haven't decided yet. I can't wait for my kitchen to be done! If you are thinking of going white, go for it!

36 Weeks

How far along? 36 Weeks. I had an unplanned ultrasound yesterday because my doctor couldn't tell what position baby boy was in. Turns out he's breech....just like his mommy and his daddy. I cried in the doctor's office. And then I cried with my mom during lunch. And then cried to my husband. I don't know why I was so upset....pregnancy hormones got the best of me. I really don't want to have a c-section but I realize it's basically out of my control and that in the end it will be fine. The husband made me a playlist of songs for my ipod so that we can try and get baby to move down towards the music. And I went for a swim yesterday too (which is also supposed to help him move!). So we'll see.
Maternity clothes? Still a mix. I basically only wear dresses and skirts now...that's all that is comfortable!
Stretch marks? Nope.
Sleep: It's getting harder to find a comfortable position but really it isn't that bad. I think staying up late watching the Olympics is the real reason I'm tired!
Best moment this week: My baby shower over the weekend.....and that my mom, mother-in-law, and sister-in-law cleaned my entire house! I love a clean house so much. Oh, and my kitchen cabinets are now done! I'll post photos next week.
Miss Anything? Not really.
Movement: Still lots of movement. Now I know that hard spot I keep feeling by my ribs is his head and not his butt!
Food cravings: Still craving lemonade and ice cream.

Anything making you queasy or sick: No.
Gender: Baby boy
 Labor Signs: Zero.
Symptoms: Lower back and hip pain and some hand swelling.
Belly Button in or out? I've decided belly buttons gross me out! Mine is flat right now.
Wedding rings on or off? On...most of the time.

Mood: I'm feeling very happy and blessed to have a healthy baby....but I'm still a little upset over him being breech.
Looking forward to: Checking some things off our to-do list this weekend and visiting friends.
16 weeks, 26, and 36. Crazy how fast this goes!
