30 Weeks

How far along? 30 weeks. Only 10 more to go! This pregnancy is going by so fast.

Maternity clothes? Still a mix.
Stretch marks? Nope. For those who've asked I'm using Burt's Bees Mama Bee Belly Butter.
Sleep: Knock on wood, but I'm still sleeping great. 
Best moment this week:  Finally finishing our birthing class. My poor husband thought it was torture! It really wasn't that bad but so much of it is common sense. We didn't really learn much. I know everyone goes to a class and I'm glad we did, but looking back we could have totally skipped it. I am thankful that after the class I have more confidence in myself.....I know now I want to move around and try to progress as much as I can before the pain gets too great and I ask for an epidural. 
Miss Anything? Not really. 
Movement: Yes, he's still a wiggle worm. My doctor said yesterday it looks like he's butt first. I was a breech baby and so was the husband. Let's hope our little guy moves and isn't as stubborn as his parents!
Food cravings: Ice cream! And lots of fruit.  
Anything making you queasy or sick: No.  
Gender: Baby boy

 Labor Signs: None.

Symptoms: My only "symptom" is a big pregnant belly.
Belly Button in or out? In, but it's getting more shallow. 

Wedding rings on or off? On

Mood: Good. I still feel the itch to decorate and re-do my entire house!

Looking forward to: Relaxing this weekend and enjoying some ice cream!

Hi, readers of The Girl in the Red Shoes! I’m so excited to be over here today. This blog has always been such a positive place for me to come and visit and I’m sure you all feel the same. It feels like a breath of fresh air whenever I talk to Julie :) Plus, are her maternity outfits adorable or what?

I'm Chelsea and I blog over at Life is a Sunset. My blog is about the many different aspects of my life – the good, the bad, and even the funny [I have an obsession with the 90's so from time to time you’ll find a good 90's flashback!] After dealing with some of the harder moments of life, I decided to follow a dream of mine and pursue my goal of creating my own jewelry business. I opened my Etsy shop, After Sunset, this past May and the rest is history!

In my store you will find lots of chunky fashion jewelry in tons of bright colors. You see, I’ve never been afraid of color. You can take a neutral outfit, add a statement jewelry piece with lots of color and it just makes that outfit “pop!” Another favorite thing of mine to do is take two colors that complement each other well and really use accessories in those colors to complete the overall look of the outfit; tie it all in.

You can have so much fun with jewelry and that’s exactly what I want anyone who buys from After Sunset to do! My bracelets can be worn either by themselves or stacked on top of other bracelets to create the ultimate arm party! The choice is yours. Best Find of the Day...

On Sunday my mom and I went to the antique fair....we had such a great time! I love looking for old stuff for my house.

 LOVED these mason jars. This seller always has a ton. I resisted and didn't buy any....but it was tough!

I thought these signs were adorable. I might have to make the "go ride your bike" or the "love you more" some time soon. 

As I've mentioned before, we are in the process of trying to update and upgrade our kitchen. Part of that process includes finding a safe place to store some of my antique glassware. Wouldn't want baby R breaking anything! SO that leads me to our best find of the day.....let me introduce you to my new buffet cabinet.

I LOVE this cabinet. It is made out of old windows and bead board and is perfect for the space! 

I can't seem to find a recent photo of what was there before......but this one is from a few years ago....

I never intended for this Ikea bookshelf to be in the kitchen...it worked for awhile. But it is by no means baby proof and had to go!

So here is the space now. This summer we will have two shelves built above it to hold more cake plates, milk glass, mason jars, and other vintage stuff. But for now I'm just lovin' my new buffet!

My other favorite find of the day was this library catalog file. It was only a few dollars and so cute! The plan is to fill it will three clear glass mason jars with flowers. LOVE it!

29 Weeks

How far along? 29 weeks. CRAZY. I'm now seeing my doctor every other week.

Maternity clothes? Still a mix. I need some good yoga/workout pants that are maternity. Any recommendations? 
Stretch marks? Nope.  
Sleep: I'm  still sleeping like a rock. SO thankful for this! 
Best moment this week:  Making burp cloths with my mom and relaxing over the weekend. And also getting started on our kitchen "upgrade"...hopefully it will happen before baby boy arrives. 
Miss Anything? Not really....just sleeping on my stomach. 
Movement: Yes, like crazy some days and then not as much on other days. During our birthing class little man kicked me so hard I gasped. I think he was trying to tell me birthing class is dumb! And I totally agree. 
Food cravings: Cheerios and anything cold. I walked Wrigley the other night while eating a popsicle. I think my neighbors got a kick out of that that one.  
Anything making you queasy or sick: No.  
Gender: Baby boy

 Labor Signs: None.

Symptoms: I'm still loving being pregnant. This week it hit 90 degrees three days in a row....SO not my favorite. My fingers and ankles get a little swollen when it's that hot outside.  
Belly Button in or out? In, but it's getting more shallow. 

Wedding rings on or off? On

Mood: I totally have the itch to decorate and start projects all over the house. Bring on the nesting stage!

Looking forward to: Seeing our baby boy in 11 weeks! And our baby showers have been scheduled...I can't wait!

Thoughts on the Weekend

Happy Monday! We had a great relaxing weekend.

The husband was in Chicago last week for the Tigers and Cubs game. As you can tell from our sweet puppy Wrigley's name, he's a big cubs fan!

The husband made sure to buy a few little things for our baby cubs fan too! And apparently he'll be a bears fan as well.

And he brought home some Garrett's popcorn for this mama-to-be...he sure knows me well.

The rest of the weekend was spent relaxing (Henry)....

Making strawberry pie (thanks Chelsea for the recipe!)....

And making burp cloths! Well, actually my mom made them. I just supervised. Bibs and baby bedding are up next!

28 Weeks

How far along? 28 weeks....we are officially in the 3rd trimester! Or was that last week? Every site has a different start date.

Maternity clothes? I'm still mixing maternity with some of my old stuff. Most non-maternity maxi dresses and long tops fit perfectly but I can't wear any of my old pants. So far Target, Gap, Old Navy, and Motherhood Maternity have served me well. I discovered that our Macy's sells Motherhood Maternity stuff....so I can avoid that tiny cramped store!

Stretch marks? Nope. 

Sleep: I'm sleeping alright these days...it is getting a little more difficult to change positions though!
Best moment this week:  Getting some projects started around the house. We are trying to maximize storage as well as baby proof.

Miss Anything? The only thing I really miss is sleeping on my stomach.
Movement: Still tons of movement. Especially during the night and after I've walked Wrigley.
Food cravings: Cheerios and raspberries for sure. And frozen yogurt.
Anything making you queasy or sick: No. 

Gender: Baby boy.

Labor Signs: None.
Symptoms: My only symptom is a big belly! I sort of love being pregnant!

Mood: Happy

Looking forward to: Picking out fabric for the bedding and curtains....and finally ordering some artwork for the nursery walls this week!
