26 Weeks

How far along? 26 weeks. Baby is the size of a head of lettuce. 

Maternity clothes? Still yes and no.

Stretch marks? Not yet. 

Sleep: All I really want to do is sleep on my stomach, which is now impossible. Otherwise I'm still sleeping okay.
Best moment this week:  Working on baby's nursery and finally registering! It was totally overwhelming. We did as much as we could before calling it quits. I still have to go back to the store to register for a stroller, car seat, and diaper bag....plus all of the random stuff we probably missed when we were too busy adding toys! So tell me.....what was the one thing you registered for and never needed? What was the one thing you wish you registered for?

Miss Anything? Sleeping on my stomach and Subway sandwiches. 
Movement: Lots and lots of movement...especially when I'm in bed reading.
Food cravings: Still loving loving my chocolate milk and raspberries.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not really. 

Gender: Baby boy.

Labor Signs: None.
Symptoms: How can I say this without embarrassing myself? If you are my husband's friend, please stop reading this now. Let's just say it's hard to poop when you are pregnant and leave it at that. And on Monday when it was over 90 degrees my hands swelled up after being in the sun for a half an hour...so that was no fun!

Mood: Happy

Looking forward to: Getting some artwork up on the walls in the nursery and seeing good friends this weekend!

Baby's Dresser....and Nursery Updates

We finally finished baby boy's dresser!

We LOVE how it turned out! It's actually a darker red in person.

The husband used this dresser before we were married. It originally belonged to his grandparents....so it's old! We didn't know if we could salvage it but thought it was worth a try! The husband sanded, painted, replaced the hardware, and added the numbers to it. The paint we used was Sherwin Williams Antique Red in their low VOC paint. The hardware is all from Lowe's and the numbers are actually house numbers screwed into each drawer. The whole project cost about $40....not too bad!

I can't wait to start putting baby boy's clothes in it! And as you can see he already has some furry friends waiting for him. My mom bought us the kangaroo, the zebra is from Pier 1 (I just had to have it after seeing it on Natasha's blog!) and the lion is from Erin and was actually the first baby gift we received. The football helmet was the husband's when he was little!

And here is a sneak peek at our crib...filled with yet to be washed baby boy clothes and some toys of course! 

I picked up these adorable numbered baskets at Home Goods....but still haven't been able to find the #2 basket. If anyone sees it at Home Goods please let me know! I'll pay you back plus shipping! Oh and the Sleep Sheep is so soft and was a gift from my friend Katie.

Another little sneak peek at some of the old toys that we hope to use as decorations. I can't wait to start putting things together!

Canoes and Cobbler

How did the weekend go by so fast? Can it be Friday again please?

We spent the weekend up at my mom's lake house. It was very relaxing and the weather was absolutely perfect! And of course we ate way too much yummy food...including some steaks the husband grilled for lunch.

 

Wrigley went on a canoe ride with us....he loves being out on the water.

And of course we celebrated Wrigley's 3rd birthday!

I think Wrigley wants to live up at the lake. He had so much fun and was totally worn out on Monday! Oh, and see our kayaks in the background? I finally got to test one out and it was fun! But I did fee like I was going to tip over....my balance is definitely off lately.

My mom's cat Scout "helped" us with this puzzle that we've been working on for weeks. It was hard!

For dessert I made Pioneer Woman's Blackberry Cobbler. It was delicious! If you make it be sure to use self-rising flour....we didn't have any and it still tasted yummy, but something was off.

Yum. Can we re-live the weekend please? I hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day!

Wrigley is Three!

I can't believe Wrigley is three years old today! He was so worn out this morning from a fun weekend at the lake.... I couldn't even get him up to eat his birthday breakfast.

It seems like yesterday he was just a little fluff ball.

My little guy is growing up!

Wrigley got to go swimming in the lake, went on a canoe ride, and got a new rope toy for this birthday.

I think he liked his new toy.

Happy birthday big guy! You have changed our lives for the better and we love you so much!

25 Weeks

How far along? 25 weeks. Baby has hair color! If we could see it that is. My guess is that it will be blonde....if our baby even has hair. So either blonde or bald! I doubt we'll have a redheaded baby unless the husband has some hidden red haired genes in his family that we don't know about.

Maternity clothes? Yes and no. I bought some long maternity shirts on sale at Old Navy that are super comfy. The top I'm wearing in the photo is non-maternity from the Gap and I love it. I'm also wearing Gap maternity long and lean jeans that are super cute and comfy. Buy your pre-pregnancy size in these. If you are in between sizes, size down.

Stretch marks? Not yet. 

Sleep: Still sleeping like a rock and loving my body pillow.
Best moment this week:  New clothes for me and lots of kicks from baby!

Miss Anything? Sleeping on my stomach.
Movement: Tons.
Food cravings: Still loving chocolate milk. And ice cream.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not really. 

Gender: Baby boy.

Labor Signs: None.
Symptoms: Nothing really new this week.

Looking forward to: Registering (maybe soon since we didn't do it last weekend), and hopefully finding out I passed my glucose test. So far I haven't heard back....no news is good news, right?

Much Better

Remember my pathetic front door wreath from yesterday's post?

Pretty bad right? That stupid wreath bugged me all day. Well, it's really been bugging me for a few months now...it was time for a change. No wreath at all would be better than a sad baggy wreath. 

Luckily I was able to fix it in about 10 minutes.

MUCH better right? I would love to be the girl who has a beautiful and creative new wreath on her front door every month. But I'm just not that girl. And now that I'm pregnant, things need to be simplified big time around here!

To fix the wreath I pulled off all of the old moss and tossed it in the trash. Then I used some greenery I had lying around the house. It was actually used to make a wreath for the front door a year or so ago, and I just kept it. It was from Hobby Lobby.

I just stuck the green stuff into the wreath. No glue and no mess. It sure makes a world of difference when you come up to our front door! 

Over the weekend I planted flowers in our pots and hanging baskets. Not sure if you know this about me, but I DO NOT have a green thumb. So I used my go-to, super easy, hard to kill impatiens for everything. (oops....forgot to move the wheelbarrow).

Our house is much more happy now.

Especially with this adorable welcoming crew!

Far from Perfect

Sometimes it seems like a blogger's life is perfect. Perfectly cooked meals, perfect hair, perfect outfit, and an always clean and tidy home. That's not real life. In an effort to keep it real around here, I want you to see that I am FAR from perfect....trust me. 

That hair that you think always looks good? It doesn't. Especially this weekend. My bangs are a hot mess.

Remember that wreath I made last fall that was so cute? It's still up on our front door. Crooked, sagging bow, sagging and faded moss. Welcome to our home! Yeah....I need to get on that.

And the dresser that was supposed to be done over the weekend so I could blog about it this morning? Yep. Didn't happen. 

See that blue tape on the screen door? Sophie put some holes in it with her sharp baby claws. It's been "patched" like this for weeks now. Classy.

And my always perfectly tidy house...yeah right. This is probably the cleanest room in my house right now.

Just keepin' it real.....hope you enjoyed a look in to my un-edited life!

24 Weeks

How far along? 24 weeks. Baby can hear me when I talk...and can also hear loud noises like sirens and Wrigley barking!

Maternity clothes? Yes and no. I need maternity tops mostly for the length! I think it's time for a shopping spree. 

Stretch marks? Not yet. 

Sleep: Still sleeping like a rock and loving my body pillow. Sophie loves to sleep on the body pillow too....it's so cute.
Best moment this week:  Hearing the baby's heartbeat (and confirmation that we have a wiggle worm on our hands!), getting the stupid glucose test over with, and seeing my belly move when he kicks. It is SO strange!

Miss Anything? Sleeping on my stomach.
Movement: Lots of kicks and movement in there.
Food cravings: I'm still craving chocolate milk like nobody's business!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not really. 

Gender: Baby boy.

Labor Signs: None.
Symptoms: No leg cramps this week! Stretching before bed, drinking extra water (I already drink a TON) and eating a banana a day seemed to have helped. The only real symptom this week is the ever growing belly. I work in higher education and my students have been on break for several weeks. Now that they are back in class and I finally have a belly it's so funny to see them realize I'm pregnant!

Looking forward to: Registering (maybe this weekend if we have time) and finishing up the dresser for the baby's room.

Happy Wednesday! Sorry for not posting yesterday....the day sort of got away from me! For those of you've who've asked about my glucose test....I survived! I think not fasting really helped me not feel sick when I drank the orange drink. And it really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It was like a super sweet flat orange soda.
