Working Girl

Photobucket
Today is the day. I'm going back to work. I've been dreading this day for months. My 12 week maternity leave has come to an end and I am so sad. Today is also Hudson's first day at day care.

Lord help me.

I'm going to miss my little man more than words can describe. Some days I think I could never be a stay at home mom...it is SO hard. And then other days  are pure joy and I can't imagine going back to work.

So today is hard. Please send good thoughts my way and pray that Hudson does well at day care. And pray that he takes a bottle!

  3. Lady! I am thinking of you. That first day back is rough, but it gets better!! I promise. Picking that little man up from school will be the best feeling! I cried when I dropped SS off, and I cried when I picked her up!

  6. Thinking of you Julie! It will be a long day at work, but babies always do better than their moms! Hudson will do great at day care and he will have no problem with his bottles. When you pick him up, you will have energy you haven't had in awhile, and you will fill every minute you have with him to the fullest. Don't feel obligated to cook tonight, if you usually do. It can be a take out night :) Let us know how it all goes!

  8. Aww, it is so hard to go back to work after having a baby. I remember crying the night before my first day back after having Jackson. However, it does get easier, I promise. :-)

  14. Sending you lots of love today. I know how hard it is. I was the mom crying at drop off every day for a week. And I understand the conflicting feelings of not wanting to go back but knowing just how hard it is to stay home. Tough! But you'll get through it and Hudson will get so much love and attention at school. (I know they're not learning much yet, but it makes me feel better to call it school!) Look at that sweet boy and his cheeks? How could they do anything but love him all day! Wishing you a speedy day at the office!

  15. Good luck! I just went back to work on Monday and it's been okay. I'm so busy at work the days fly by. I'm more sad at night when I get home and realize the day is almost up and I hardly got to spend any time with my little man.

I hope you have you have patient coworkers and strength today and tomorrow. Hopefully the short two days back will help for next week. :-)

  29. I know today was a tough day for you, but looks like you both survived and your co-workers certainly seemed happy to have you back. It is a delicate balance I'm sure, so I am praying for your energy and for everyone's adjustment to your new routine.

  30. I love your blog so much and read it daily! I can't believe its already time for you to head back to work. I am 14 weeks pregnant and even THIS early I am already dreading that day when I will have to go back to work after maternity leave! I do think that women who work and raise babies are superwomen. Well, anyone who raises a baby is a superwoman in my book, but adding the work stress isn't easy! Good luck with balancing it all!
