Crazy Cat Lady

January 3, 2012

I didn't mean to take another blogging break yesterday....but the weekend just got away with me! Going back to work after a week off is SO hard....it's especially hard when everyone else still has the day off!

We had a great New Year's Eve....usually we have a party at our house but decided against it this year. It was so nice to not have to stay up until midnight. That's right, I said it. I'm totally not a party girl. I went to bed at 10:30!

The rest of the weekend was spent lovin' on Miss Sophie. I just can't get enough. I'm SO that mom.

Seriously, look at those feet! Can you blame me for being obsessed?

For those of you who've asked, Henry and Wrigley seem to love Sophie just as much as I do. Well, maybe "love" isn't the right word. Henry spent the first two days alternating between hating her and being afraid of her. Luckily he came around and seems to like her. He still won't snuggle up to her for a picture....much to my dismay.

Wrigley, on the other hand, is OBSESSED with Sophie. He wants to know where she is at all times. He wants to play so badly with her....but he totally freaks her out. The above picture was taken on day 4 when Sophie could finally be in the same room as Wrigley without either of them freaking out. Her out of fear, and Wrigley out of excitement.

And now, we're here. Full on puppy kisses. I'm not sure Sophie liked this...but it's progress!

Did anyone do anything fun for New Year's? Or were you like me and in bed before the ball dropped?

  2. I love Wriggles! He so needs a little brother or sister. *ahem* ;)

Oh NYE. Mine wasn't that exciting - I stayed up all night on the phone with my senior and her parents finishing up college apps due to an error on my part! Sadly, they were in Hawaii, and it probably derailed THEIR plans...

... I, for one, was glad to stay home... though I would have MUCH rather gone to bed before 5:30am!

  10. SO CUTE! We almost always stay in on New Year's, too. This year we opted for movies and wine. I started falling asleep a little before midnight thanks to a shared bottle of wine and a boring movie, but I was up for midnight and a little after and then started zonking out again. I love staying home because you can spend the New Year comfortable, with the people/animals you love most, and when you're tired you can just go straight to bed! Wouldn't trade it for being out in the cold with a bunch of drunk crazies for the world!

My cat and dog are best friends, they are always together (maybe because they are the same size haha)

    Happy New Year!

  13. Your kitty is so cute! That is sweet that the dogs want to be around her; it took my two cats months to warm up to our dog when we brought him home, but now they are all the best of friends :o)
