The other day the husband and I were looking back at some old pictures of Wrigley's first few weeks with us. Holy Cuteness.

When was he ever this little? It seems like SO long ago.

He has loved sticks from the beginning.

I can't even remember him being smaller than Pancake.

After seeing this one the husband said "maybe we should get another puppy". Ha....yeah right. I bet that's how people talk themselves into having more kids.

Wrigley used to torture the kitties. Actually that hasn't changed...he still does.

What happened to my little puppy?

It's Wednesday....that means I'm busy pinning

Happy Wednesday everyone! Today I'm linking up with Michelle at The Vintage Apple for Pinteresting  Wednesday....you should too! Pinterest is a place where you can "pin" your favorite design ideas, recipes, projects and more. You need an invite to join...if you would like one please e-mail me or leave a comment on this post including your e-mail address. You can find me on Pinterest HERE

Let's get started!

Lately I've been obsessed with old library card catalogs. Hopefully I will be able to find one on craigslist soon!

Versions of these shelves are floating around all over......must learn to make them!

Oh these boots. I'm speechless. Bring on the fall.

Love the look of this beat-up sign. I'm adding this to my DIY project list...that thanks to Pinterest is at least a mile long.

A bow on a pillow! Adorable! Please someone teach me to sew.

This melts my heart. My husband is a huge baseball fan....we have to do this when we have a little boy some day.

Call me crazy but I LOVE the rain! The only thing I don't like about it is figuring out a way to get Wrigley exercise without getting soaked. After this crazy hot summer I could use a little rain.

Oh my word. Pinterest is responsible for the 5 pounds I'm sure to gain. Yum.

What are your favorite finds this week?

Vintage Finds

One of the many perks of having my mom out here is that she brought me tons of vintage items that we have been collecting since I was little. Some of it was my grandma's and some we bought over the years. Every time I see my mom I get a new box of stuff!

Like this Pepsi crate and cake plate. LOVE! Now I need to figure out something cute to do with the crate. (sorry for the crummy iphone photos....something is wrong with my camera) (oh and the galvanized tiered stand in the background is not vintage...it's from pottery barn)

And my favorite polka-dot mixing bowl set. My mom has a set with black dots...so adorable.

And all of my pyrex dishes! I totally forgot I had these.

And some jade mixing bowls. I have six mugs too. I must find a way to incorporate these into my kitchen color scheme.

And no vintage finds post would be complete without including a few mason jars. I love the lids. And isn't the cake plate to die for? Once I find everything a home I'll post more pictures. Happy Monday everyone!

Favorites on Pinterest this week

Well, it's Wednesday and you know what that means.....Pinteresting Wednesday of course! I'm linking up with Michelle and you should too!

Why didn't I think of this? Will be making this asap. Only with two small J's and one large R.....will it still be cute?

Love this island painted in an accent color. Someone do this!

Obsessed with this photo and totally want to recreate it.

Love this simple mobile.

How cute are these milk and cookie cocktails? One bad thing about Pinterest is you realize how much more creative other people are than you.

Okay, I found a solution for the whole mom-and-husband-buy-me-identical-watches-as-birthday-gift problem. This adorable bag!
I want.

I would also settle for cinnamon roll pancakes. Yum.

Must have been Bigfoot

The husband has recently become obsessed with the show Finding Bigfoot on Animal Planet. I think he watched at least four or five episodes over the weekend. The show is about four researchers on the hunt for Bigfoot. They trek across country and interview witnesses. They even have one of the guys stand in for Bigfoot so the witness can judge the height of the creature they saw. Then they camp out at night and try to get a glimpse of a "squatch". It is hilarious. And of course every piece of "evidence" is totally logical and totally points towards the presence of a sasquatch in the area.

The creature you saw threw rocks? It's a fact that Bigfoots are known for throwing rocks.

The creature you saw was nine feet tall? The average male sasquatch is nine feet tall.

You don't say.

So naturally Bigfoot is now blamed for everything mysterious that happens in our house.

The seat in your car is reclined all the way back? Bigfoot must have taken it for a joyride.

Someone drank the last of the chocolate milk? Must have been a squatch. It's a fact that they love chocolate milk.

Creepy noise coming from the attic? Must be a Bigfoot dancing around.

Wet towels on the bathroom floor? Darn that Bigfoot...always usin' our towels.

You get the picture. Please someone tell me you've seen this show!

Birthday Weekend

Thank you for all of the sweet birthday messages! You all sure know how to make a girl feel special.

My birthday weekend was perfect. A little shopping with my mom, dinners out, Harry Potter watching (loved it!), apple pie, and some sweet gifts. What could be better?

The husband surprised me with this gorgeous ceramic watch....and funny enough my mom got me one that was almost identical. They know me well! So her watch got returned and now I'm on the hunt for something to replace it. Maybe a fun new purse or shoes? Decisions, decisions.

The awesome surprise of the day goes to my husband's cousin's wife, Melissa. She sent me this adorable cake plate....that she made herself! A mason jar cake plate??? Are you kidding me! I loved it. Thank you Melissa! And thanks to my co-workers for the amazing yummy cookies.

On Saturday the husband and I went up to my mom's lake cottage to relax and go tubing with friends. My mom finally has furniture up there and it's starting to look like a real house! I'll post pictures as soon as she's done adding her special touch to the place.

The husband tubing in the lake. It was a gorgeous day but so hot!

That's me! My arms are still aching from holding on so tight. Oh, and I desperately need a tan.

Thanks again to everyone for making my birthday special. Can we please celebrate my birthday every month?

Start each day like it's your birthday

Today I'll do just that...because today is my birthday!

Have to include my traditional birthday photo of course.

I plan on eating lots of cake, lunch with my mom, a date night with the husband, seeing Harry Potter this weekend, and maybe some shopping. Perfect.

Pinteresting Wednesday...aka my favorite day of the week

Happy Wednesday! Today I'm linking up with Michelle at The Vintage Apple for Oh How Pinteresting Wednesday. You should too! Haven't joined Pinterest yet? Send me an e-mail and I'll invite you!

Here are a few of my favorite pins this week.

I NEED these lights, don't you think? I'm kind of obsessed with them. Someone make them for me? I'll love you forever, I promise.

This is the kitchen from the movie Something's Gotta Give. I'll admit to watching this movie over and over just so I can drool over the beautiful house.

Totally need this for my iphone! The one that says "my pick" is my fav.

All you need is love...and this frame of course! Looks like a good DIY.

Here's another project I want to do. A pallet transformed into a photo area...love! Now, where can I find a pallet?

Cookie dough and cupcakes? Sign me up!

I think I need to do this to my Ikea curtains. Or maybe just talk my mom into doing it for me.

Totally saying this to my husband from now on. Finally putting my big but to good use.

Galvanized pots with numbers....what's not to love?
