2009 in Pictures

In January we bought our first house!

We became official homeowners in February...and began cleaning, painting, and installing new carpet and appliances.

In March we moved in! And we were blessed that the husband got a new job!

In April we celebrated Mo and Ali's engagement. Their wedding is May 2010 and the husband is a groomsmen and I get to be a reader...so excited!

In May we did a bunch of work in our yard.

In June the husband was in his friend Randy's wedding.

And then in July we did something that would change our lives dramatically...we got a puppy, Wrigley.

In August my best friend Erin got engaged to Mike. Their wedding is September 2010 and I get to be the matron of honor!

In September my mom came out to visit and we went to the Country Living Fair in Ohio.

In October we celebrated one year of marriage....up in a hot air balloon.

In November I went to California for work and got to visit with my best girls.

And in December we celebrated our second Christmas as a married couple and first in our new home.

Happy New Year! We are so excited to see what 2010 brings!

Merry Christmas Eve!

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas. My mom has been out here visiting, hence I haven't had much time to blog! This week the husband, mom, and I went to Meijer Gardens to see their Christmas trees from all over the world. Everyone else in Grand Rapids must have had the same idea as us because it was so crowded! Regardless we had fun looking at all of the trees. Our only complaint was that the trees were fake! Shouldn't a garden have real trees???

This tree was really pretty....I think it was from Poland but I can't remember for sure.

The outside was really pretty....but so cold! At least these trees were real.

They also had sing-a-long carriage rides....I wanted to go on one but I think I would have been the only one to sing! And I'm not sure anyone besides my husband actually wants to hear my horrible off key voice. Oh, and it was too cold too, I guess.

Back inside we got to look at more trees. This was the tree from Japan. I loved the origami garland!

And the tree from Africa was really cool too.

It had lots of old fashioned reindeer and snowmen...so cute. Oh, and a popcorn garland!

And then, to be fair, I had to take one of Pancake too. And they were thrilled about it, I'm sure.

Wrigley wanted a turn too, but the hat was a little too small for him. Sorry buddy.

Snow Dog

More Snow

We keep getting more snow! So we are trying to make the best of it. Yesterday Henry ventured out on the back deck to play and investigate. Pancake decided to stay inside and keep warm.

But nobody loves the snow as much as Wrigley!

First Snow

On Friday we got our first taste of what it is like to live in Michigan during the winter....snow! Usually we get a little sprinkling here and there as a warm up...but not this year. The snow just dumped on us! This is our house on Friday afternoon. We had no snow the day before.
It really is pretty....as long as you don't have to drive in it.

It was Wrigley's first time seeing snow....and he loved it! He didn't hesitate at all...just jumped right in and started playing and digging.

He didn't want to come inside.

He's a snow dog for sure.

Can't Get Enough

We just can't get enough of this cute little face....

It's Beginning to Look a lot Like Chirstmas

It sure is starting to look like Christmas over at our house, and I love it! I can't believe it is already December. It is now our tradition to put up our Christmas tree the weekend after Thanksgiving. I totally forgot to bring my camera along....which is a huge bummer because there were reindeer at the Christmas tree place! I've never seen a reindeer before, but they were really cute! I was so sad that I forgot my camera. Anyway, here is our tree! Do you see what is hiding under it?

We are really happy with how the tree turned out. The only problem is that Wrigley won't leave it alone.....so right after I took this picture we put a baby gate up around it.

Pancake loves to hide under the Christmas tree. And he loves the fact that Wrigley can't get him there.

We kept Wrigley entertained with some Christmas lights.
