Wedding Party and Flowers

This week Kelly, from Kelly's Korner, is hosting "Show Us Your Life - Wedding Party and Flowers". So I hope you aren't sick of seeing wedding photos on here...I just can't help myself!

Here is my beautiful bouquet. I know I've said this before but the flowers turned out exactly how I had imagined them in my mind. When I met with my florist I tried to describe how I wanted the flowers to look, but had a hard time putting it in to words. Corinne, from Sebesta Design, was wonderful. She completely understood me and made my vision come to life. I will never ever forget my flowers! (Oh, I just clicked on her website and our photos are on the main page...fun!).

Seriously, I am still in love with them.

Here you can kind of see the table flower arrangements. This is the small version....there was also a tall version but I can't seem to find a photo of it. Oh, and that is my mom next to me and my aunt Donna's arm grabbing that caramel apple!

Now, on to the wedding party. Here are the girls! I made our tank tops myself and hand stitched the letters on the back.

This photo makes me laugh. We may or may not have been singing a little here.

I love these girls. From left to right: Heather, Erin (my maid of honor), Rebecca, me, Erin, and Katie. Heather, Erin, and Katie were my best friends in college, Rebecca has been my friend since I was 6 years old, and the other Erin is my sister in law!

And here are the boys! From left to right: Mo, Shaun, Josh, Randy, the husband, Danny (the best man), Brett, and Ron. The boys got access to Spartan Stadium for this!

Walk the Cat

Wrigley, I already tried to walk Henry on the leash. Trust me, it doesn't work!

No matter how hard you pull, he isn't going to move!

And watch out....because he will retaliate against you.

(yes, Henry wears a cat harness with a leash when he goes out on the deck.....so that this doesn't happen again. And no, he doesn't seem to mind it...anymore.)

The Front of the House: Before and After

We spent some time this weekend working on the front of the house!

This is what the house looked like right before we moved in.

And here is what it looks like now! The husband's parents helped us a ton with weeding and planting flowers. And my mom is responsible for the hanging plants and potted plants on the front porch (some you can't see in this picture). My mom and the husband also hung new light fixtures outside. And the biggest change happened this weekend...we hung shutters! I really like them. It looks like a completely different house! We originally wanted the shutters to be a little wider, but because of some structural issues we couldn't make it happen....regardless I still love them! What do you think? We are still waiting for some of our plants to grow in a fill out....so next year it will look even better!

Wedding Dress

I was and am still completely in love with my dress. My mom and I found it the very first day we went looking at dresses. I passed right by it at first because the sample at the store was silver and white and had a halter top and I knew I wanted an ivory dress with a sweetheart neckline. After trying on a few dresses, the consultant helping me brought over "my" dress and told me that I could change the color from silver and white to soft ivory and I could change the neckline. As soon as I realized I could make the changes I fell in love with the dress! My best friend, Erin, was coming out to Michigan the next day to help us look for dresses, so we didn't buy it that day. The next day Erin, my mom, and I continued the search for the perfect dress. But all day long I knew that we had to go back to the first store for "my" dress! So at the end of the day we went back to try it on again, and everyone agreed it was beautiful. I bought it that day! It was such a big decision but I knew I was doing the right thing. Buying the dress made everything seem so real...I was actually going to get married!

When my dress arrived in the store months later I was so nervous to see it. But it turned out just how I had envisioned! Every time I went back for a dress fitting other future brides in the store would just go crazy over my dress!

The back had beautiful little details. Oh, and my mom made my veil!

More Wrigley

Here are some more photos of Wrigley. Right now his favorite activities are chasing Pancake and Henry, chewing on his toys, chewing on my clothes, stealing the husband's shoes, playing outside with his buddy Rye from across the street, napping, and chewing on the plants and grass around our house. Overall, he has been a great little guy....except when he poops in the house! All I can say is that I am so glad we have carpet that is easy to clean and doesn't show stains!

Seriously? I think we have a puppy model here!

He is pretty cute when he runs.

Lansing Bride

Okay, are you sick of hearing about our wedding photos? I guess I'm not sick of talking about them! Anyway, our photographers at Loon Lake Photography let me know that some of our photos were going to be in the new addition of Lansing Bride magazine and they were kind enough to send me a copy! (p.s. my mom really wants one too...so if anyone sees one I would love it if you could grab it for me!).

The cover...pretty but not our wedding.

Hey, those are my feet! The magazine chose this photo for their photography section. I have famous feet. Oh, in case you were confused because you have seen all of the photos of me in my red shoes...I was a diva and wore both. The white were for the ceremony and the red for the reception.

Introducing...Wrigley!

Here he is.....meet Wrigley! Thanks to all of you who voted for his name....we secretly wanted to name him Wrigley so we were really excited when the name won in the end....it was a close one!

He has only been home for a few hours, but so far he is doing great!

He loves to play!

Isn't he the cutest puppy you have ever seen?

He started to play tug of war with the blanket...so cute!

More pictures coming soon, I'm sure. Right now our little man is exhausted and taking a much needed nap in his bed! As for Pancake and Henry, they are actually doing really well! There were a few hisses, but so far they are being good boys. I hope it lasts!

Kitchen Pictures

Okay, finally we have some pictures of the kitchen! We finished painting and got a new dining room table. We are still working on getting new light fixtures (I hate the ones in there now!) and we are working on getting some more white chairs to go with the table so we can get rid of the black ones. Oh, and we still need a curtain for above the sink (hint hint mom!). But I can't wait any longer....so here you go! (You can see the before pictures by clicking here.)

My mom says I need more close up pictures, so here you go! I love this platter. When my mom was out here visiting we saw it in a shop and she offered to get it for me....and for whatever reason I passed. But as soon as we got home I told her that we should have bought that platter! Well, a few days after she went back to CA a package arrived in the mail for me....the platter! Don't I have the best mom? I think so.


Isn't this the cutest cake plate? My mom collects them...and I'm starting to too!


I have been collecting these Pyrex dishes for years. I have a couple boxes of the stuff back in CA.

One of my favorite wedding gifts...my red mixer. I've wanted one for years and years.
