Mo & Ali's Engagement Party

Last weekend we went to our friends Mo and Ali's engagement party. The husband is going to be a groomsmen in their wedding next May. And Mo was in our wedding. (Mo and Jon were roommates for two years in college...quite the pair those two). We had a great time hanging out with their family and friends. I played photographer and took close to 200 pictures....I'll be editing them this weekend and sending them out to the happy couple. Here are just a few. Oh and somehow I didn't manage to get a photo of myself...but trust me, I looked cute!

Mo and Ali. They are seriously one of the most photogenic couples I have ever seen. Aren't they the cutest?

The husband with some fellow groomsmen and the father of the groom.

The husband snapped this photo for me....love catching them love on each other! Congrats Mo and Ali...we are so excited for your wedding and I'm sure it will be beautiful.

April Showers

We have been getting a lot of rain the past few days. For a while our grass was still looking half dead and we were worried that it would never look as good as our neighbor's perfect lawn. But...the rain this weekend did the trick! We discovered bright, beautiful, green grass on Sunday! Now it is hard to tell where our lawn starts and our neighbor's law begins (before, there was definitely a clear line). We are so excited! Our trees started to turn green this weekend too. It is so nice to finally see some life in our yard!

View from our front porch a little while ago....it was still raining.

Lovin' the green.

This guy had to sneak a peek at the pretty lawn too.

Painting Progress

We've been making some progress on painting the kitchen. As you can see Pancake has been helping out a lot by holding down the tarp. Good job buddy. Hopefully we'll have some pictures of the finished product soon!

When Your Cat is Lost....

Be sure to tear through every room, closet, cabinet, and drawer in your house...twice. Also, and this is very important, remember to sob uncontrollably. It also helps if you call/sob the missing cat's name all around your back yard...and your neighbor's back yard while searching every bush and tree with a flashlight. During this time remind yourself to thank your husband for searching the neighbor's yard and surrounding wooded areas for your cat...at 11 o'clock at night. Also remember to thank him for driving around the neighborhood in search of said cat. Be sure to revert to being a 5 year old and call your mom and freak her out by sobbing into the phone. Oh, and make sure your other cat helps you search for him. Whatever you do, do not try to make him sniff out the trail of the lost cat...this will not work because he will be too busy exploring the back yard you never let him play in...and also because he is not a hound dog. Furthermore, do not leave him on the deck while you and your husband search the neighborhood...he will wake up everyone on the block with his loud cries.

And finally, listen to your mother when she says that you will find him, even though you have been looking for your lost cat for an hour and it is 11:30 at night....because you will. You will find him in your neighbor's yard (where your husband has already looked twice, of course). You will see a pair of eyes glowing at you when you shine him with your flashlight. He will hiss at you and run on to the neighbor's deck. Do not be discouraged! Put down your flashlight, hold out your hand and when he realizes it is you, he will come to you. Jump for joy, hug and kiss him like a crazy cat-lady, and call your husband who is still out searching the neighborhood and exclaim that he has been found!

Oh, and the next morning, when you are still red-eyed, tired, and look like you have a hangover, remember how much you love your silly, sneaky, cat, and vow to never ever let him out on the deck by himself again. The end.

In case you were wondering, that was our night last night...and the missing cat in question was our dear Henry.

Nothing But Love Over Here

It starts like this.

But quickly turns in to this.

Oh dear.

Pancake going in for the kill.

Henry strikes back with all fours. Nothing but love from these two.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter! I meant to post these yesterday but I haven't been feeling well. I was sick last Easter too...what is going on? Anyway, this year for Easter we went to the in-laws, which has become our tradition. Did you know that the first time I met Jon's family was Easter 2006? I remember being nervous and hoping they would like me. They did! And here we are three years later celebrating our first Easter as a married couple. I am so thankful for my wonderful family. It is great to have some family close by in this still new-to-me state of Michigan. Even though I am far away from my own mom, it is nice to have a mom and dad here to talk paint samples, curtains, and kitties with! Love you guys!

Here we are on the porch....Erin is taking the picture. Last year and the year before it was too cold and snowy to go outside for pics...finally we got some slightly warmer weather. Not warm by California standards, but I'll take this over snow on Easter any day!

There's Erin!

Me and the husband. I hope you had a wonderful Easter 2009!

Famous

Jon and I are famous...sort of. Our wedding photos are all over our photographer's website! They even have an entire section devoted to us! I spoke with them today and they just loved our photos so much they had to show them off! I sure don't mind being a model. Oh, and we are being featured in an upcoming add for September, which I will be sure to post here! Check us out! My red shoes are in the first photo that comes up! http://www.loonlakehollow.com/

6 Months

Yesterday Jon and I celebrated 6 months of wedded bliss! Can you believe it has already been half a year? We spent the day going to church and cleaning and painting the house...so romantic.
I love you baby! Happy 6 months! (Oh and Jon starts his new job today...wish him luck!)
