New Chair...

The husband and I have been shopping around for a dining room table and chairs. We set a budget and it was beginning to look impossible. Until today. We found a great white and natural wood table for a great price at a local furniture store! We were so excited. They had chairs that matched but they were really expensive and we knew we could find a better deal elsewhere. Last week we went to a cute little antique store that a friend of ours recommended. They had lots of fun chairs and funky furniture so we decided to go back today to look for chairs to go with our new table. I wanted 6 chairs, but I didn't want them all to match. We lucked out and found this cute white chair and were able to buy 3 of them for the same price as one chair at the furniture store! Score! And we were able to pay cash for everything, which felt great. I am going to re-cover the seats to match our kitchen...when I get a chance. The table doesn't arrive for 4 weeks, so I have some time! We still need 3 more chairs, but for now we will use 3 black chairs that we already have. We love mixing them together! Oh, and I guess you can see a little of our kitchen in the photo! I promise to post some pictures of the kitchen as soon as it is painted...which should be soon....I hope.

Pancake Tries to Help

This weekend the husband spent a lot of time working the the yard raking leaves and mowing the lawn. It was a huge task because the lawn had not been mowed in a very long time. While he was working in the back yard, Pancake desperately wanted to help too! He alternated between crying, purring, and hissing at Jon. For some reason, Pancake got really mad whenever Jon found sticks in the yard or bagged leaves...not sure why.

Mostly he just wanted to explore the yard and play with the leaves.

My Husband

Guess who got offered a new job today???

My husband!!! As some of you know, my hubbie had a job that he was really unhappy in. Unhappy is actually an understatement. He had to take the old job so that when we got married we would be living in the same town....which was kind of necessary and all. But the job required him to get up every morning at 3:50 a.m....and let me tell you, it is rough. So, we've been on the lookout for a new job since day one. The economy in Michigan is really suffering, so we are so thankful for this new opportunity. Oh, and he won't be getting up at 3:50 in the morning anymore...yes! Congrats baby, I love you!

The Living Room

As promised, here are the pictures of our living room. I know my mom and mother-in-law are dying to see these! Keep in mind, this room is still a work in progress! We put in new carpet and painted it a lovely shade of light green....which we love. The only problem is that a lot of our stuff is red...and doesn't really go with the green. So, I shopped the house for stuff to match, but it is a little sparse. I usually have some candles on the coffee table...but when your decorating budget is $0, you just have to go without! Thoughts on how I can improve this room are welcomed.

Weekend

We finally got some warm weather this weekend. It was great to open the door to the deck and let the boys get some sun. Henry was a little camera shy, but Pancake was lovin' having his picture taken.

We also hung some pictures on the wall in the living room. But it is not quite done yet...I promise pictures this week!

Laundry Room

Since it is taking forever to unpack, I decided that I would show you the one room in our house that is done...well, almost done...the laundry room! We need to paint the walls....I'm sure that will happen at some point...just not any time soon. Regardless, here is our laundry room. Only the best for the blog.

It actually turned out nice!

See our cute window curtain...I made it! And guess what I used....fabric napkins! I just pinned them up there with fabric tacks and it totally works for now. And it was free!

Our fabulous washer and dryer....love them.

And no post would be complete without a few shots of the boys enjoying the house. The lighting wasn't so great so I just converted them to black and white. In case you can't tell, Pancake is on the left and Henry is on the right. They just love sitting in our windows.

Pancake LOVES to play with plastic bags. Last night I caught him like this and just had to snap a photo. Such a cute bag boy, don't you think?

Unpacking

Yes, I'm still alive. I would love to show you some pictures of our unpacked house...however, I don't have any...mostly because, well, no rooms are completely unpacked. I caught Jon's cold and haven't been able to get a whole lot accomplished. I do have a few pictures of the boys enjoying the house. They love their new digs. They especially like sitting in the windows in the front of the house.

Movin' On Up

On Saturday we made the big move in to the house! We had Mo, Cags, Chris, and Erin helping us out. Thanks guys! The poor husband was really sick, but he was a trooper and worked hard any way. So far I have unpacked the kitchen and am starting to work on the bathroom and bedroom. (Of course the first thing the boys did was hook up tv, cable, and play station!) We have so much stuff it is crazy. The previous owners took all of the window treatments, so my job is to try and get some pretty curtains up! I don't want everyone seeing me in my pjs!

We are home! The husband did not like driving this big truck.

After everyone left we went back to the condo to get the kitties. Pancake was so excited and wanted to explore every room. Henry wanted to take it slow and was a little skittish for a while. The boys seem to have adjusted a lot quicker than the last time we moved. Henry gets a little spooked from time to time, especially when he hears strange noises. Both boys love all of our windows and Pancake loves to run down the stairs...it is so cute.

Pancake loves to lay on the hardwood floors in the sunshine...you can tell he approves of our house!
