Did I mention that I love this man?

I got to see my main squeeze today while I was in Lansing for work. It was a treat since we usually only get to see each other during the weekends. It sure does a girl good to see her man during the week.

Counting Down the Days...

I'm getting married in less than 2 and a half months. I can't believe how quickly it is coming up. I have so much to do! Today I was messing around with my camera and I decided to do a little photo session with my rings....can't wait to wear both of them!

Kitten Update

Good news! Little black kitten has a home! After I put up "found kitten" signs all around my neighborhood and heard nothing, I started to worry about finding a home for her. I looked in to taking her to the animal shelter, but I didn't feel too great about that option. Luckily, I heard that a girl at my work might be interested in adopting her, so I quickly called her up and persuaded her to take a look at the little princess. So, I left early from work to go home to pick her up and sneak her in to the building. Needless to say, my co-worker fell in love with Miss Priss right away (it sure helped that she was all purrs and snuggles too!). So, I had to say goodbye to the little kitty but I feel so good that she has a nice home now!

They Always Find Me

Lost kittens....always find me. And I always rescue them. I can't help it. I must have a sign on my forehead that says "lost kittens come here". Jon and I found this little girl yesterday. She is now living in my bathroom until I either find her owner or find a new home for her. And I must say that Miss Priss is one of the sweetest little kittens I have ever seen. She just loves to purr and purr and purr. And eat. She likes that too. And she likes me for feeding her.

Miss Priss has a flea collar on, so she must belong to someone! And I cannot keep her. Absolutely cannot keep her. Two kitties is enough for me. And let me tell you, my two boys are super curious about her. Since she has a flea collar on and I don't know what shots she has had I thought it would be best to separate her from my boys. I don't want them to get fleas or rubella or anything like that. (I'm sure this little girl is fine, I haven't noticed any fleas on her at all...but just in case).

So far, Pancake seems to totally want to be her friend. He lays outside of the bathroom and watches her from under the door. He even puts his paws under the door to reach her. Henry is a little nervous and scared but still curious. Miss Priss, on the other hand, wants nothing to do with the big scary orange boys. She has sent several growls and hisses their way. So, needless to say she will be kept away from them until I find her a home.

Please pray that I find her owners (signs are going up today) or that I find her a home. I absolutely cannot keep her...I must keep reminding myself of that!

Happy Birthday to Me

Did I mention that today is my BIRTHDAY??? Today I am officially a quarter of a century old. No longer in my early twenties, I am now in the mid twenties. In 5 years I will be 30. Man, I'm old! There is nothing really fun about turning 25...other than the fact that my car insurance rate will go down...go me.

On the agenda for today:
1. Not going to work!
2. Getting a airbrush fake tan (yikes).
3. Hanging out with my soon-to-be-hubby.
4. Presents! Oh wait, I was supper greedy and already opened them....oh well.
5. Being treated like a princess...always good.

Cowgirl

Can we talk about how cute this photo is? My aunt just sent me this...it is me with my cousin, John. I sure am a pink pot-bellied cowgirl. And I guess John is a pirate/cowboy. And, is it just me, or am I also covered in dirt? I must be seeing things because I was like the cleanest kid ever.

Powerless

Yesterday my power went out. We had a bad storm complete with thunder and lightening, heavy rain, hail, and a tornado watch. Such a fun day in Michigan huh? Needless to say I was a little scared for my life while I was at work. Luckily, my co-workers took my mind off things...and they also laughed at my woosy Californian ways. On my way home from work I noticed several trees were down and the traffic lights were all out...not a good sign. So, I figured that my power would be out too...and it was. Poor Pancake and Henry were sitting in the dark by themselves. So my original plans for dinner were ruined since there was no way of cooking anything...stupid electric stove! And I didn't want to go out to get something because 1. it was raining cows and horses, 2. since all of the traffic lights were out there was some mad crazy traffic going on and 3. the restaurants on my street were without power too. So anyway I had a great dinner of cereal and fruit. Same thing I had for breakfast. Basically I was bored bored bored out of my mind. I spent my time going through my dresser (and ended up filling eight bags with stuff to give to good will!), playing chase the flashlight with P & H, caught up with an old friend on the phone, and did some reading. Oh, and I definitely put all of my candles to good use.

And in case you were wondering, today the power is still out...I am illegally blogging from work, so don't tell on me. You can only imagine what a hot mess I look like today with no curling iron to do my hair.
