I am happy to report that so far the Poop Project has been a success...er, well except for the one time when I accidently left the off-limits bathroom door open....and the Poop Monster snuck in for a quick drop. Needless to say, the door has been closed since then. Besides that one minor setback, things are going well! We have had many successful poops in the litter box! I am going to keep things the way they are for the time being...then slowly begin to open the bathroom door and see what happens. Way to go Poop Monster...your mama sure is proud!

Redecorating
So today I decided to do a little redecorating to spruce up my apartment. I got a lot done in just a few hours...take a look...
First, I put up this cute shelf in my bathroom above the towel rack. I finally have a place for all of my cute perfume bottles and I love the way it turned out.
Then, I made this paper circle piece to go above my bed. These two orange monsters were totally diggin' the new look.
I also got these three panels to hang above my bookshelf in the living room. Pancake is really handy with a hammer, although he wasn't too happy about having to use pink tools.March 27, 2008
The Poop Project - Day 1
Day 1: As previously posted, my sweet chubby little kitty, Pancake, recently (er, well it has been a over a month actually) earned the nickname the Poop Monster. Anyway, unfortunately for me, he has not made much progress towards pooping in the litter box. Thus, I came up with the idea of the Poop Project. It basically involved me moving the litter box out of the bathroom and into the hallway just outside of the bathroom. I think the Poop Monster actually enjoyed pooping on the bathroom floor, so I thought that if I possibly moved the box and locked him out of the bathroom altogether, he might not have enough guts to poop on the carpet in the hallway....at least that is what I am hoping will happen! So far, so good....although there was much confusion about the movement of said litter box, I think my two orange monsters are getting used to the idea....we'll see what happens.

My Number 27
For the past few days I haven't been feeling well at all. So today, my wonderful soon-to-be-husband called me at work to let me know he was coming out to GR to take care of me and bring me soup.....well actually, the soup was my idea...but still a nice gesture right? So when I got home from work, not only was there yummy soup waiting for me, but Jon had also magically connected my Mac laptop to his big screen TV! (I had a sneaking suspicion that his unexpected visit might have less to do with my being sick and more to do with playing with the new magic hook up cords he recently purchased...but that doesn't really matter). Anyway, sometimes I like watch my shows (Grey's Anatomy, Cashmere Mafia etc.) on my computer (because I don't have time to watch them because I am oh-so-busy cleaning up after Pancake the poop monster)....but now thanks to Jon I can watch them on the big screen TV! He explained to me how all of the cords he bought transmit the computer images to the TV, but I wasn't really paying much attention. We watched an episode of Miss Guided from ABC to test it out...and it was great. My hero. (oh and Jon likes Miss Guided! such a cute show).
Anyway, a little while later I was talking to my mom on the phone and noticed that Jon had discretely started playing his MLB baseball video game (as he has a tendency to do, from time to time). Usually I don't pay much attention to what he is doing, but this time something caught my eye. Instead of the normal team of Detroit Tigers players, I did a double take and noticed a very familiar looking guy on the screen. It was a super cute digital incarnation of my handsome hunk of a fiancé! Complete with "Renbarger" across the jersey and his lucky number 27. I couldn't hold back my giggles at the sight of my video game man....something about the build and stance of the electronic guy eerily resembled my own live-version hunky man. When I pointed out this fact, Jon informed me that he had made the player look like himself, complete with accurate height and weight....I just about lost it with laughter. Anyway below is a picture of my video game man. You can just make out the name on the jersey. Doesn't it look just like Jon??? Oh boys and their video games....

Henry
Henry told me today that he noticed there were more pictures of Pancake on my blog than of him....I guess he was feeling a little left out. So....here are some pics of Henry doing Henry things.
One of his favorite activities is knocking things off of the table....like this glass full of water.
Henry also enjoys jumping on top of stuff....especially the refrigerator.

Happy Easter!
For Easter, Jon and I went to his parent's house for some good cookin' and family lovin'. This was my third Easter at the Renbargers...and it was great, as always. We did, however, have a good amount of snow on the ground....which we all really love, of course.
We spent a good two hours going through Jon's baby pictures to see what ones we might want to use for a slide show at our wedding....and let me tell you, he was (and still is!) such a cutie! I am convinced that we are going to have the cutest children on the planet (but not any time soon, so don't freak out mom). I wanted to pick every picture, they were all just sooo cute! But, I resisted...and we found some really good pics....yay!

Jon helped me make my world famous trifle.....pudding, angel food cake, whip cream, bananas, blueberries, strawberries...extreme yummieness....it is his absolute favorite thing that I make....March 22, 2008
Spring Has Sprung!
It is officially spring....can't you tell???
No, these pictures were not taken during winter....in fact, these pictures were taken today. I mean don't you always have snow the day before Easter?

Pancake prefers to watch the snow fall from inside....I mean come on, he needs to keep his little feet warm right?
Henry showing off his profile...isn't he a handsome little guy? His red heart-shaped name tag really gives him a little extra somethin' somethin'.
We had to resort to playing inside, because it was just too cold. (I mean look at that face, he should totally be a cat model.)March 21, 2008

Jon's Big Purchase
He finally did it....after months and months of obsessing over consumer reports ratings and knowing every detail about flat screen TVs...Jon bit the bullet and bought the TV of his dreams. A Samsung 40" flat screen HD 1080p...that's right I know what I'm talking about here (thanks to Jon's tutorials, I am fully versed in the TV lingo). For those of you who have not had the pleasure of hearing about TVs every weekend, let me tell you that a Samsung HD TV in 1080p means that this is about as fancy as it gets.I am still in shock that he actually bought it. Just about every weekend for the past three months Jon has dragged me to just about every electronics store in Western Michigan: Sears, Circuit City, Best Buy...you name it. And every time we go it is the same story.....walk in the store, look at all the glorious fancy TVs, hmm and hah for 30 minutes, point out all the different gadgets, hmm and hah for 10 more minutes, I start getting cranky, I pick out the TV that is the prettiest, Jon laughs at me, I tell Jon to just buy one already, Jon decides it is just too much money, then we leave. And repeat at the next store....you get the point.
So you can imagine my surprise when he actually bought one. I was in shock. I am still in shock. The BEST thing about this purchase is that my wonderful fiancé has decided that since this TV is too big for his room back in Lansing it therefore will reside in my apartment! And let me tell you, it looks great. I love it, Jon loves it, Pancake and Henry love it, we all love it.
